DJ PY

DJ PY is a turntablist from Bergen, Norway who also makes hip-hop beats and releases them under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-ShareAlike license. DJ PY's music will never be found exclusively on the commercial music services, as there should always be alternative channelse open for those who don't want to sponsor those services. !
DJ PY has played on most of Bergen's clubs and scenes including the main scene in Grieghallen. He has participated both in the norwegian DJ championships and the norwegian turntablist seminar. He has also collaborated with singer Matangi, rapper Dark Poet, psychedelic countrypunk band Trond K & The Serious Issues, Bastard Son of Buddha and others.
DJ PY started playing hip-hop records in the mid-90s. When the norwegian hip-hop community changed in the late 90s towards a more commercialised attitude, DJ PY stayed true to the independent underground spirit and continued developing a sustainable lifestyle culture which can be maintained through the various phases of life. He stated in an interview that "we make music for people at our own age, not an audience between 13 and 20 years old".
